For more than 150 years, The Webb School has provided challenging academics with an emphasis on personal integrity in a small family-like setting.
It is a place where young adults are not just expected to learn—they are encouraged to lead. The Webb School emphasizes independent thinking, creative initiative, personal integrity, and civic responsibility. The end result is stronger, more confident thinkers, makers, and doers prepared for college and ready to take on any challenge.
Enduring Understandings: Webb’s future is intimately connected to the values of its original visionaries. The school supports six enduring understandings based upon these founding values. They are:
integrity is a cornerstone of a flouring life and community.
Learning is an enjoyable and ongoing process.
Respect for self and others is essential to a harmonious society.
Self-discipline and autonomy are essential to success.
Each person has unique gifts and capacities and a responsibility to develop them.
Each person shares the responsibility and honor of serving others.
Webb’s Experience: At the Webb School, not only have I found a great education, but I’ve also found a family and memories that will last a lifetime. If you are looking for a life-changing experience, I really recommend attending this great school.
Webb’s Values: The Webb School embraces Judeo-Christian values and the shared moral values of world religions represented by our students and faculty. These values are the foundation of our Honor Code and our community standards.
Middle School Program: Webb is a supportive community where students are challenged to succeed. Regardless of their daily schedule, faculty members have a special bond with the students in their dorm.
The Middle School curriculum at Webb is distinguished by personalized education, with a 7:1 student to teacher ratio.
The Middle offers a rigorous academic program that prepares your child for upper school success. Students complete required courses in English and humanities, mathematics, history and world geography, science, world languages, art and music.
Upper School Program: The program is constituted to enhance the development of moral values, responsibility, and self-discipline. It is designed to give students a foundation for college-level studies and to help them identify and explore their own strengths and interests. Required courses assure a well-rounded education by introducing students to the basic knowledge and techniques of diverse fields and by making sure that physical activity and practical skills are not neglected.
Student Support: At Webb, our students don’t fall through the cracks. The partnership between the teacher, the parents, and the student is an essential one. There are a multitude of safety nets in place to guarantee our students’ success:
• Advisor System • Extra Help • Sixth Grade Focus
• Academic Support • Test Prep • Study Center
Counseling Program: With over 30 years of combined experience in college and secondary schools, Mr. Bridwell and Mrs. Bird will begin in 8th Grade and prepare families for the excitement of the college discernment process while keeping student fit and expectations as the focal point. And while many Webb graduates attend super-selective colleges across the country each year, College Counseling is also prepared to assist with admission to regional universities with outstanding academics that offer greater financial support.
Outdoor Education: Along with weekend group trips throughout the year, Winter Freeze and Spring Break adventures test students’ skills. Senior Survival, a weeklong backpacking trip ending the day before graduation, is the final bonding experience for each class that makes lasting memories.
