Brighton College
Founded in 1845 by William Aldwin Soames, Brighton College was the first independent school to be founded in Sussex. Our historic gothic buildings were designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott R and, later, Sir Thomas Graham Jackson RA. As the school has evolved, so too has our campus, with numerous award-winning buildings being added over the years.
Our international family of schools:
Since opening our first school in 2011, Brighton College International has continued to grow, now overseeing a global portfolio of seven schools.
Our strong links with the College ensure that each overseas school is built on the outstanding reputation of Brighton College UK. Brighton’s focus on inspirational teaching and curricular innovation, together with a deep commitment to the individual needs and enthusiasms of each child, form the heart of the Brighton College DNA that runs through all our international schools.

The School of Science and Sport: A range of world-class sports facilities are suited to players of all sports, and all abilities. These include a dedicated strength and conditioning suite, a 25-metre swimming pool, a double-height sports hall with basketball court, a running track, and a dance studio.
Art and design spaces: Opened in 2008, the Alexander Arts Centre is a large, loft-style studio and photography unit. With an abundance of natural light in the space, pupils are able to explore their creativity in a variety of mediums.
Boarding spaces: Boarding houses have been designed to ensure a sense of community and comfort during and after school. Our award-winning Simon Smith Building becomes a social space for boarders in the evening, with a stylish cafe, outside theatre space and study stations.
Our girls’ boarding house, New House, was awarded a RIBA architectural prize and was longlisted for the prestigious Stirling Prize. The first co-educational Sixth Form boarding house, Alexander House, is a renovated Victorian property with stunning boutique interiors.
